[292] An improvement

I’ve been getting on better with Ryan for the last few weeks. I think it’s because we’ve been forced together in the face of adversity. I’ve never lived with a nutter before and neither has he, so it’s been a bonding experience for us. I guess it’s also reminded us that whatever our differences may be, neither of us is that bad really. It’s helped that he’s been doing his random Japanese muttering a lot less this year, something I never quite got used to last year. I struggle with his accent as it is so when you get bits of Jap thrown in here and there, I often took the attitude it was a lot easier just to not listen to him. Still, as I say, apart from the whole mad Rob problem things have improved.

My efforts to be sociable have paid off, too, which is a bonus. Was read more.

[55] Shopping bags splitting

Steven has an air of the ridiculous about him – in a good way, in a comically inept way. A bit like Mr. Bean. He was telling me earlier how his shopping bags split at the bottom of the hill on the way up to his flat, and the picture it conjures up, of Steven precariously balancing tins of beans in his arms while a flat loaf of bread teeters across his shoulder, jars of curry sauce overflowing from his pockets, is… well, if you had to wonder who this kind of thing would happen to, you’d probably think of Steven first.
