This one just gets on my nerves. Johnny Marr, right – probably the greatest guitarist of the last two decades, he could be in any band he wanted, do what he wants… but no, for fifteen years he messes about with rubbishy bands. The Pet Shop Boys are the best example. OK, they’re not the worst band ever, and they’ve done some decent gay tunes, but they’re hardly in Johnny Marr’s league. I don’t know… it’s just disappointing that he’s not done anything as brilliant as The Smiths, I guess. He should be brilliant, but instead – he’s a bit rubbish. Ah well.
