I'm aghast and frankly frothing at the gills at the lack of commentage on what is one of the finest pieces of 'aley reportage', as you insinuated, I've seen all day.

What with the upcoming Lytham Beer Festival, you've given me all the impetus I need to make sure a visit is a cert.

Those chips sure sound a feasible tease to a palate that's obnoxiously fickle and a hunger more rampant than one of your crimebusting coppers in the QCU.

Pray wonderment on all of your future beer-based incursions.

And thank you!

I think Wakefield's a good shout- there's plenty of good pubs in there from what I've heard. Beyond that I can't really recommend much else as I've only really done the ale trail through these towns. I'll get Richard on it when he returns from his latest adventure.

Tonight I popped into a local JDW and had a pint of Young Tom. Said it was brewed by Robinsons but it tasted more like an alley cat had a hand in it so to speak.

There is cheese and there is cheese; however unlike beer no cheese smells AND tastes nice at the same time... having noticed my dad's latest stilton smelling something equivilent to a month old laundry basket. I'm not a the biggest cheese fan in the world but it did taste quite nice... as long as you held your nose!
